This was announced today at the meeting of the committee to hold an open competition for the right to conclude an agreement on the establishment, rehabilitation and maintenance through public-private partnership of members of the airport property.
Governor of St. Petersburg Valentina Matvienko, summing up the meeting, noted that the competition was attended by the three applications, which the commission considered in terms of financial, technical and legal components. Won application, obtained as a result of the greatest number of points - 78.
Consortium Air Gate northern capital offered the best conditions for the city - to allocate 11.5% of turnover in the city budget, not including taxes. Thus, we obtain a large and reliable taxpayer, - said Valentina Matvienko.
The agreement between the administration of St. Petersburg and the consortium will be signed on 2 November 2009. Immediately after the company begins to manage the airport and the renovation of its buildings, which will end in 2013. Total investments amount to more than 1 billion euros.
Matviyenko stressed that the reconstruction of St. Petersburg will receivenot just a city airport, a modern hub - and interchange cargo handling unit, important for the whole country, which will significantly enhance the socio-economic development of Russia's northern capital.
