Fuel and Energy Ministry of Ukraine initiates the consolidation of responsibility for energy companies for the provision of substandard services to electricity. This today at a meeting on issues of reliable electricity Zhitomir region, said Minister of Fuel and Energy Yuriy Prodan.

According to him, in particular, the Ministry together with the National Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has prepared a bill, as well as changes in the rules of provision of electricity, which will provide for an increase in the amount of compensation to consumers for poor-quality electricity supply termination power, or unfounded.

"We"ll work with NERC to increase the responsibility of power companies at the legislative level to power companies responded to consumers ... Money for lost electricity should be returned to the people", - said Yuri Prodan.

minister recalled that at the present time at the legislative level, the rule provides that the power companies for wrongful termination power must compensate the consumer 25% of the value of the undelivered electricity. Under the changes, which plans to initiate a ministry, the amount of such compensation may be revised upwards, while not excluding that in the event that it would be a household consumers (population), can be implemented 100% compensation for the cost of undelivered electricity.
