Czech President Vaclav Klaus, known for their skeptical attitude towards the idea of pan-European agreement, made a sharp criticism of the EU pledged safeguards to Ireland under the Lisbon Agreement.

According to Klaus, these safeguards make changes in himself a pan-European treaty, therefore, the process of ratification of the agreement the EU must be started anew. Every normal person, even a first, understand that this change is the Lisbon Agreement, - said by Euro V. Klaus in an interview to national radio, television transmits Czech CT24.

As reported at the EU summit on 19 June, European leaders agreed to give Ireland, did not ratify the Lisbon Agreement, to ensure that the treaty will not affect the number of internal issues, including the attitude towards abortion and military neutrality.

According to the initiators of the protocol on guarantees of Ireland, these concessions will allow its citizens to vote for the Lisbon Agreement for a second referendum to be held in October.

Currently, the ratification procedure is also under way in Poland and the Czech Republic. Czech president refuses to sign the document, although it has been ratified by their parliament.

Recall Lisbon Agreement requires the introduction of the post of President of the European Union, which will be elected for 2,5 years. In addition, the document provides for the reform of the executive body of the EU - the European Commission, which will be launched with a broad mandate European Commissioner for Foreign Policy. He will report to the leaders of the EU. The European Commission itself will be reduced to 2014 in composition from the current 27 to 17 European Commissioner. The composition of the EC shall be elected for a term of 5 years.
